Manage Log Status Window

Right-clicking on an area and selecting Edit Status or Edit Default Status will open the Manage Log Status Window.

Status Settings

Root: Allows an entry to start a thread. Only statuses with the Root attribute can be selected when creating a new entry with the Open New button.

Allow Responses: Once an entry has been created if the entry is selected and has the Allow Responses status checked, the Respond button becomes available for all entries with this status. If the Allow Responses check box is not checked for a status the Respond button will be grayed out and cannot be used for an on-going message thread.

End Responses: The only status that has been given this option by default is the CLOSE status. When a user responds to an item with the CLOSE status the log item string will be grayed out and the Respond button for the item and its sub-items will be disabled, ending the message thread.

Notification Priority: The Notification Priority option serves two purposes. First statuses, that are given a notification priority are now identified as notification-type entries. A notification will always appear at the top of a Logbook in the order of their priority until it expires. This is useful for creating that entries that need to be viewed for a certain period of time, regardless of whether newer entries are created, such as a safety warning. The second purpose refers to the number entered in the column. SAFETY was given priority 1 and GENERAL priority 2. This means that when Notifications are displayed Safety will always be at the top of the list no matter what time it was entered into the system.  Entries with the same Notification Priority will sort chronologically.

Default Status Settings

Default Status: The checkbox sets the Status of the row as the default status for all new entries in the area. This setting is overridden by the Default Status setting in the Logbook Display Config window.

Default Entry: The button will open a text box in which default entry text can be assigned for all new entries in the area.  If an entry such as a shift log or safety report has a very specific format it can be partially created for a user to reduce tedium. Default entries are status-specific.
