Sites

The site definition section lists all sites that have been configured.

Name: Site name. The connection icon indicates the currently connected site.

UA Server: Server name and port number of the UA Server.

GDS: Server name and port number of the GDS.

Display Path: Location of the shared Displays folder, typically in the Capstone share.

DSN: Although most client connections to SQL are handled by the UA Server, SQL Templates that are configured to “Use PARCview DSN” and  PARCserver applications still require a direct database connection as of version 7.1. PARCcalcConfig and any Excel reports or other applications that make direct SQL calls for the connection string will also need this field. Enter “File Name=” followed by a file path to a .UDL file. The file can be local to the client and the file path can be unique on each client. This setting overrides the DSN setting for the Location set in System Configuration.

Export DSN: When exporting the site configuration file, whether to include the site DSN.

Client Credentials: Stored credentials allow clients to connect to a dataPARC site or remote location automatically without requiring a sign in. The column lists the type of stored authentication and whether it uses the default from the security console or an override. Click the ellipsis button to edit the stored credentials.

Server Credentials: Stored credentials allow server applications to connect to a dataPARC site or remote location automatically without requiring a sign in. The column lists the type of stored authentication. Stored server credentials always override the default from the security console. Click the ellipsis button to edit the stored credentials.

Default: Set selected site as the default site. Server Clients (PARCserver applications) will use this site connection. The default site is marked with a star icon.

Test: Test the connection information. A green dot is a success; a red dot is a failure.

Add new site: Start typing in the bottom new item row to make a new site definition.
