Excel Source

PARCview clients can dynamically read time-series data from an Excel sheet. The mapping between the Excel sheet and PARCview occurs in the Tag Browser.

When an Excel source is selected, the Tag Browser interface will change to the form used to configure the mapping between Excel and PARCview.

On the Tag Selection tab, load data from an Excel sheet, then line up the columns and rows.

Select File: Browser to the Excel file that contains the tag definitions and data.

Load Selected Sheet: Select the sheet within the workbook to load.

Load Tags to Tags Tab: Once configuration is complete, click to load tags into the Tags tab.

Name Row: Row that contains tag names.

Descr. Row: Row that contains tag descriptions.

Units Row: Row that contains tag units.

Min. Row: Row that contains tag plot minimums.

Max. Row: Row that contains tag plot maximums.

First Column: The first column that contains tag data.

Last Column: The last column that contains tag data (optional, unless there are non-data in the sheet that need to be ignored).

Time Column: The column that contains timestamps.

First Row: The first row that contains tag data.

Last Row: The last row that contains tag data (optional, unless there are non-data in the sheet that need to be ignored).

Save: Save settings in the Selection section to the tag browser.

Clear All:  Clear saved settings.

 

On the Tags tab, drag and drop the tags onto displays or double-click to launch trends.
